The term “spy” can bring up thoughts of exciting secret agent novels or films. Unless of course, the perpetrator is spying on you and your family.

A unique type of malicious software exists that is designed to do just that. It is called spyware. And once it is inside your system, it can steal your data and personal information. Only a powerful protection tool can stop this program once it sneaks past your computer’s defenses.

UnHackMe, by Greatis Software, is one such product that is designed to protect your system from spyware.

What is Spyware?

Spyware is a pernicious form of software that can be one of the following:

  • Adware
  • Cookies
  • Trojans
  • System monitors
  • Web beacons
  • Rootkits

Spyware also includes keyloggers, which monitor a user’s keystrokes to obtain passwords and other information.

Spyware does not necessarily spread in the same way as a virus or worm, because infected systems generally do not attempt to transmit or copy the software to other computers. Also, spyware is not the same as phishing, in that it does not directly contact a user to trick them into giving up personal information.

Most of the time, spyware will sneak into a user’s system without them knowing. All of a sudden, pop-up ads start appearing and their online behavior becomes monitored.

Spyware often attacks the user’s internet browser once they visit a site under control by the spyware creator. Spyware can collect any type of data, such as logins, bank account or credit card information.

It can also gain control of a user’s computer, redirect web browsers or change computer settings.

UnHackMe Stops Spyware

UnHackMe will detect and remove spyware along with other types of malicious software. In fact, UnHackMe will remove malware that gets past your other anti virus program.

That is why having two-tiered protection on your computer is best. So, UnHackMe combined with an antivirus program will provide the best security for your system and family.
