Scan Types
NETGATE Internet Security Scan includes these selections:
- Quick Scan
- System Scan
- Full Scan
- Custom Scan
Quick Scan will scan areas of your computer most likely to be infected. This is the shortest scan and should take only a few minutes.
System Scan will scan more crucial parts of your system and takes longer than the Quick Scan.
Full Scan will scan your entire system and takes the longest. This provides the most complete scan.
Custom Scan can scan specific areas of your computer, including memory, registry, cookies, and drives. This scan can take very little time to complete, depending on which options are chosen.
All scans run from the same main scan window with the scanning status bar on the bottom.

The scan type button will turn green when you click on it.
The Quick Scan, System Scan, and Full Scan will run immediately upon clicking on the scan type button on the top of the window.
Internet Security Custom Scan
Creating a custom scan is very easy. Just select the files or folders you want to scan and click “start scan”. You can also choose to do a deep scan of the selected folders.

Remove
The Remove window will show the threats that have been found and the possibility of removing them.
The Cage
The Cage window will list all the removed infections. You can choose to delete them forever, or restore them.

You can also bring infections back to life. This is useful if a false infection has been found and you want to restore a useful program.

Spy Emergency allows for scheduling of the scan and the type of scan to run. These include days of the week, and time of day.
There is also a computer startup options list on the bottom of the options window. This is useful if you want to have Spy Emergency run at Windows startup.
Keep List
The Keep List allows you to exclude software from the system scan.

News
The News screen gives you information regarding the version, release date, and any new threats that have been added to the most recent update and database.

Analyzer Tool
As part of the Support menu, the Analyzer Tool can help with unknown or new adware and viruses. This will generate a log file which you can send to the research team. You will need to provide your email address to complete this process. The listing of programs available for fixing will be presented in this window where you can check which ones you want to repair.
FortKnox Firewall
The left hand side menu of the FortKnox Firewall main window looks similar to Spy Emergency’s. On the left hand side is a list of the following selections:

Statistics

The Statistics screen shows three separate graphs:
- Incoming Traffic History
- Attack History
- Outgoing Traffic History
These graphs run in real time with information transmitted in Kilobytes.
Connections
The Connections window shows all active network connections.

On the bottom portion are the options including:
- Details including local/remote IP, Domain, and MAC Addresses. Also bytes in and out.
- Block Connection
- Trace Route
- Whois Lookup
- Show on Map
- Terminate Process
Advanced
This allows for Advanced Firewall Rules / Filtering. You can also import additional rules into the program.

Options
This window shows the options to choose for FortKnox Firewall operation. The General tab includes Network Neighborhood, Notification, and Startup sections. The Enhancements tab allows for further options regarding more detailed technical choices such as anti-IP spoofing and fingerprint identification.

The Logging tab enables you to keep logs of various information including security and traffic.

The Miscellaneous tab has many additional options to choose from, including incoming and outgoing ICMP data flows and Update options.

Applications
The Applications window shows individual application rules, specifically allowing or denying their operation. You can also import or export application rules.

Traffic Log
This displays a log of all traffic going through the firewall. You can trace the route, do a WHOIS lookup, export, and get details on each listing.

Buy
This menu option allows you to buy FortKnox Firewall from the trial version. You will need a serial number from the purchase to use this option.
Support
Here users can submit problems to the technical support team for help. You can describe the problem and submit an attachment with it in this window.
